Evan Glusman is a founding member of the board of directors for the Patrick Kelley Youth Foundation and was a close personal friend of Patrick Kelley. Evan was born and raised in Las Vegas. He played basketball for Al LaRocque at Durango High School and went on to play at the University of Nevada Reno. Evan became involved with youth programs in the greater Las Vegas community by coaching children in the summer time. Currently, Evan helps PKYF by mentoring some of their college students and fundraising. Evan is currently managing partner of Piero’s Italian Cuisine. Evan Glusman resides in Las Vegas with his wife, Alida and their 3 children: Stella, Beau and Luke.
H Waldman has been involved with the Patrick Kelley Youth Foundation since it’s inception and was a dear friend of Pat. H is a native of Las Vegas and attended Clark High School with Patrick before going to UNLV and Saint Louis University on basketball scholarships. H has been active in youth organizations since college as well as his professional career playing overseas in Israel, Poland and finally Russia. H has worked with the Boys and Girls clubs of Las Vegas for Youth basketball summer camps and continues to assist in fund raising for many traveling teams. H and his wife Nina reside in Las Vegas with their daughter Niah Milan.
Jeff has grown up in Las Vegas, moving to Las Vegas at the age of 6. Jeff is a partner in the law firm, Moran Brandon Bendavid Moran. He is one of the founding members who helped create the Patrick Kelley Youth Foundation and currently serves as the Foundation’s Corporate Secretary, Director, and a member of the Managing Board. Jeff and Pat Kelley grew up together and were the best of friends. Jeff is married to Erin and has two wonderful children, Myles and Morgan. By joining this Foundation, Jeff has become a true testament to what Pat Kelley stood for – enjoyment. Jeff is so proud to be part of the Youth Foundation because it has brought opportunity and enjoyment to so many wonderful children. The Patrick Kelley Youth Foundation is truly for the betterment of children.
A Las Vegas native, Irene obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Psychology from UCLA, where she also played on the 1990 & 1991 NCAA Championship Women’s Volleyball Team. Irene applied her athletic skills as a coach for the Women’s Volleyball Teams at the University of Michigan and the University of Virginia, before finally moving back home to Las Vegas where she directs the Operations Department at a local destination management company.
“I met Patrick in high school and we remained close friends until his untimely death. When I heard about this foundation being formed in Pat’s name, I was thrilled. This foundation is everything that Pat stood for; enjoying life to the fullest, bringing friends together, and helping others. I know in my heart that Pat is looking down on us with a smile and proud that this foundation was born in honor of his life.”
Mike Kelley has lived in Las Vegas and has been active in our community for over 40 years. He has been involved with the Boy Scouts of America in a regional capacity, as well as a board member of Goodwill Industries. Mike has enjoyed raising his family, Virginia, Mike Junior and Patrick in our city. Mike has seen the needs of many at-risk and deserving kids. The Kelley family is very excited about the idea of the creating a continuous program serving our Las Vegas youth, in Patrick’s memory.

Bob has lived in Las Vegas for 60 years. He has known the Glusman and Kelley families for decades and has had the pleasure of working together with both Mike & Patrick Kelley. After Patrick’s untimely passing, Bob worked with Evan Glusman, H Waldman and Mike Kelley to help create & develop “PK Bike Day” in Pat’s honor.
“It is truly a privilege to be part each year’s festivities and now to be part of a great Board of Directors, made of Pat’s family and close friends, and help to develop the Foundation we have created in his name. Putting smiles on children’s faces & helping young, deserving people get through college… The “Big Kid” would be proud.”
Kurt Wiesner is a native Las Vegan who is a founding member of the Patrick Kelley Youth Foundation board of directors. He was a lifelong best friend of Patrick Kelley from growing up in the same neighborhood. Kurt became involved with PKYF because he enjoys carrying on Patrick’s legacy by helping kids, and providing one of Patrick’s all time favorite toys to those kids, the bicycle.
Stephanie is a native New Yorker, proud to be a part of the Las Vegas Community since 1994. Growing up in Westchester County, Stephanie was involved with several summer programs for inner-city youth from her early teens until she graduated from Pace University and moved West. As Owner and President of Activity Planners, Inc. a local destination management company, Stephanie brings her organizational skills and event planning experience to the PKYF Team. Stephanie resides in Las Vegas with her husband, Ralph, and sons RJ and Nicholas.
Lindsey Sherer is Director of Brokerage Sales for MassMutual Financial Group’s Boulder Basin office, a full-service Fortune 100 financial services firm. Lindsey chose to go into the financial services industry as a result of the rise and fall of the real estate market and seeing the effect it had on individuals financial and personal lives. Lindsey is a dedicated community leader. She was a founding member of the Las Vegas Young Philanthropist society, a non-profit consisting of young professionals helping to improve the lives of Las Vegas youth. Lindsey has also served on the board of directors for S.A.F.E House, a non-profit organization supporting victims of domestic violence. Lindsey is a sincere, creative and passionate individual and our board is extremely honored to have her in the family. Lindsey currently resides in Swall Meadows, CA with her husband and two girls and enjoys spending time with them.
Charles Skinner is a founding member of PKYF’s board of directors and was a close personal friend of Patrick Kelley. Throughout his time in Las Vegas, Mr. Skinner has been involved in various community projects to help Las Vegas youth such as starting a camp program for at-risk children called Shoot For The Stars and serves a board member for Youth Charities of Southern Nevada. Mr. Skinner has been involved in the gaming and hospitality industry for over 20 years in Las Vegas. He started his gaming career at IGT where he spent 8 years there followed by executive roles at United Coin Machine Co. and Station Casinos where he currently serves as Vice President of Operations. He has been involved in various businesses throughout his life in Las Vegas and is currently a principal of Baldini’s casino in Sparks, Nevada. Mr. Skinner currently resides in Las Vegas with his wife Elisabeth and two children, Maggie and Caroline.
Shirley graduated from Cimarron-Memorial High School with an Honors Diploma and a high rank among her class. During high school, she participated in Varsity soccer all four years and became a staff member of the yearbook. She was also nominated Homecoming Junior Princess by her classmates and took part in a school event known as Powder Puff. As a part of her community service, Shirley coached a team of U9 boys and helped them develop as better soccer players. Shirley has attended The University of Nevada Las Vegas for three years and will soon earn her degree in Education and Psychology. While at UNLV Shirley has become certified as a Healthy Rebel Peer Educator and helps peers in her community in areas such as education, violence, sex, drugs and abuse. She is currently employed by State Farm Insurance as a licensed representative and works for Clark County School District as an instructional assistant.
Stevie Scott is the 2010 scholarship recipient. Born and raised in Las Vegas she attended Del Sol High School where she graduated 6th in her class with a 4.6 GPA. While in high school she was an AP student, Choir president, as well as Cheerleading and Track & Field captain. She is currently studying Sports Medicine at UNLV, where she was accepted to the Athletic Training Education Program and had an internship as an Athletic Training Student for the UNLV Football team in 2012. Stevie is an Athletic Training Representative for the Student Athlete Advisory committee at UNLV, an organization helping student-athletes become more involved in the community and volunteer work. Stevie has finished her is Undergraduate degree and is finishing up Graduate School in athletic training.
Ashley Daines is a 2009 recipient of the Patrick Kelley Youth Foundation. She graduated High School with honors from Indian Springs. She was active in her high school’s athletic, theater, and student council programs. In 2013, Ashley graduated Cum Laude from Evangel University in Springfield, Missouri with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice and Psychology. In 2015, she graduated with her master’s degree at UNLV in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a 3.88 GPA. Ashley is now a Clinical Professional Counselor Intern and Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor in Las Vegas. She currently provides therapy for adolescents while also developing a non-profit organization that will provide mental health and mentoring services to at-risk youth in Southern Nevada.
Jerome Goings was PKYF’s first scholarship recipient from 2006 – 2010 and is actively involved with the Foundation to this day. Jerome is a Las Vegas native who graduated near the top of his class from Durango High School in 2006 and played under Coach Al LaRocque. Jerome attended Oberlin College in Ohio and played basketball there as well. He is a first generation college graduate and was a double major in Sociology and Law & Society with a minor in Politics at Oberlin. Aside from academia and athletics, he was an active member of the Oberlin community and performed weekly community service hours volunteering at various youth programs. Following the completion of his undergraduate degree, Jerome continued his passion working with at-risk youth at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey and then in a few nonprofits in Columbus, OH. Jerome currently resides in Winston-Salem, NC and is the Director of Strategy & Market Research for Blind Acre Media, a digital strategy and web development agency.
Joshua Mayfield is the 2013 PKYF scholarship recipient. He was born and raised in Las Vegas graduating from Las Vegas High School with an Honors Diploma. He also excelled in basketball, football, and track. He was on the varsity team for all three sports since his sophomore year. Josh is currently a junior at The University of Nevada Las Vegas, where he will soon earn his degree in Hotel Management. Josh is getting experience in the hospitality industry as well. He is currently employed as a Guest Services Specialist at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas.
“I am too blessed to be stressed. I try not to stress and worry about stuff because I know that there are people less fortunate than I am. I just want to be a successful person with a good paying job so I can help people who need help. I want to be able to bless the people who are stressing because they don’t have food to eat or money to buy their children presents for Christmas. I would like to continue to be involved with a foundation such as the Patrick Kelley Youth Foundation so I can help children.”
Esmeralda Cruz is a 2013 PKYF scholarship recipient. She was born and raised in Mexico City and came to the U.S. with her family at 9 years old to obtain greater opportunities. When she first arrived in Las Vegas she did not speak English but worked hard to become fluent and learn English to excel in her school studies. She qualified for the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) and became a DREAMer in 2012, which gives undocumented students the privilege to stay and work in the United States legally. Esmeralda graduated from Clark High School with an advanced diploma. During her high school years, she played soccer and was recognized as a scholar-athlete. Esmeralda was involved in “We R Community” and really enjoyed it. She also wrote an essay that was published in the book titled “Embrace the Game” written by her graduate advocate and other students. Ms. Cruz is a first generation college student, currently attending UNLV, who is trying to beat all odds and become larger than life. She is pursuing a Hospitality Degree and hopes to become an event planner in Las Vegas and plans on giving back to her community.
Richie Thornton V is a 2015 recipient of the Patrick Kelley Youth Foundation Scholarship. He was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada and graduated from Bishop Gorman High School in 2015. While at Bishop Gorman Richie excelled in basketball. As a team captain, Richie helped lead his team to three Nevada State Championships. His senior season he led the state in three-point field goal percentage, steals and assists, breaking the all-time Nevada State record for assists in a single season. Off the court he volunteered over 100 hours of community service at Matthew’s Closet, Las Vegas Rescue Mission, Three Square Food Bank as well as the PKYF.
Richie is currently a Freshman at Benedictine University in Mesa, Arizona where he is continuing his basketball career and is studying to earn his Bachelor’s Degree in Communications.
Sienna Baker is a recent PKYF Scholarship recipient and a graduate of Bonanza High School’s 2016 class. She is currently in the second semester of her freshman year at UNLV working toward a pre-nursing degree. While in high school, Sienna balanced a job with her academics to help out her family. During this time she also participated in Bonanza’s cultural council (now called “Customer 1st”) which resulted in many of the community service activities and experiences she values today. We are extremely happy to have Sienna as part of the PKYF family. Her strong sense of family values, kind heart, and community outreach helped her stand out in a strong pool of candidates from 2016. Since becoming a recipient, Sienna has been excited to continue her outreach and help even more through the PKYF family!
